Description
Error Message
CPI ERROR V-9-0-0 Failed to connect to SORT (https://sort.symantec.com).
Cause
The issue is caused by older CPI packages using the sort.symantec.com address. As Veritas is now no longer part of Symantec, the new address is https://sort.veritas.com.
Resolution
The following workaround can be used in the event that this issue is encountered during an upgrade/installation:
1. Connect to the sort.veritas.com and locate the required patch under Downloads/Patches and download it to the system(s) to be upgraded/installed.
2. The patch can then be included as part of the upgrade/installation by using the patch_path option to specify the patch's location with the installer script.
eg.
./installmr -base_path /dvd1-redhatlinux/rhel7_x86_64 -require /root/patches/CPI_6.2.1_P11.pl -patch_path /root/patch
If planning an upgrade/installation, the Knowledge Base/Kernel Lookups option on the sort.veritas.com page can be used to identify and download any required patches in advance.
