Error Message

Cause

In some large multi-node clusters, it was taking more time for the "vxdisk -o thin, fssize list" command to complete.

Resolution

As a fix the VIOM discovery has been modified, so that this command is not executed at the time that the host is being added to the VIOM configuration. Additionally the interval by which this command was running has been increased.

The fix is available only in a private fix for VIOM 7.0 as there will be no further GA patches for this version. Please contact Veritas Technical Support if this private fix is required.

The fix has also been included in the VIOM 7.3.1.600 and 7.4.0.400 GA patches which are available for download on the SORT website.

Issue/Introduction

When adding nodes from a SF 6.0.5/rhel6 cvm/cfs cluster to VIOM 7.0, it was observed that as part of the discovery a 'vxdisk -o thin, fssize list' command was being triggered. This command was taking a very long time to complete or else it didn't complete and this was preventing other VxVM tasks from completing on the VxVM volumes.
