Name: ...\\UpGradeInfraWrapper.exe
Publisher: Veritas Technologies LLC
Type: Application
From: ..\Program Files\Veritas\Veritas Shared\VPI\{F834E070.......}

Cause

Following an upgrade, the UpGradeInfraWrapper.exe process is run to clean up any remnants of the previous installed version of the software that could not be removed until the reboot occurred (in-use). However, there are instances where the entries for this process remains in the Run key in the registry, so it continually runs.

This could be permissions related where the LocalSystem account does not have permissions to remove entries from this key.

Resolution

Resolving this issue will require the manual removal of 1 or 2 registry entries. Once complete, this message will no longer be seen. Please follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Registry Editor (start > run > regedit)
  1. Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
  1. Locate  the following registry values:

- UpgradeInfra
- UpgradeInfraVCS*

* UpgradeInfraVCS will only exist for InfoScale versions that include the Veritas Cluster software.

  1. Delete the UpgradeInfra and UpgradeInfraVCS (if applicable) values.

Once complete, future reboots will no longer experience this issue.

Issue/Introduction

Following an upgrade of the InfoScale for Windows products, an 'Open File - Security Warning' pop-up is seen after a system reboot, following user logon. If the 'Run' option is selected and it completes, the message is still seen on subsequent server reboots / user logins.
