How to upgrade basic disks with existing volumes to Veritas managed dynamic diskgroup using Veritas Infoscale

To upgrade basic disk to dynamic disk, right click on desired basic disk and select “New Dynamic Disk Group… “ or "Add Disk to Dynamic Disk Group.." as shown below

Note 1 :- In case if the desired basic disk is MBR, then we have to ensure that we have minimum 16 MB unpartitioned space at the end of the desired disk. If it is GPT, then it should not create any issue.

Note 2 : It is strongly recommended to make sure you have a valid backup of the data before attempting this operation

Before the upgrade is completed, as per below notification, the Filesystem will be dismounted during the upgrade process

Once the upgrade is completed, a rescan from VEA would be needed for the change to reflect 

Issue/Introduction

At times, there are volumes that are already existing from disks located in the BasicGroup and the need arises to manage these disks via Veritas infoscale. This requirement calls for moving/upgrading the disks from the BasicGroup to a new or already existing Dynamic Disk Group managed by Infoscale
