Description
A split brain condition might occur in an InfoScale cluster when the Network Properties plugin is accessed on a Windows2016&2019 system.
You might encounter this issue if you follow this sequence of actions:
- Ensure that LLT is configured over ethernet in your InfoScale cluster.
- Restart all the nodes in the cluster.
- After the nodes are up, log on to any node, and click Start > Settings > Network & Internet > Ethernet.
- A split brain condition occurs in the cluster for a few seconds. Thereafter, the connection is restored automatically.
Note the following context for this issue:
- The issue is applicable to all versions of InfoScale so far.
- LLT is configured over ethernet in an InfoScale cluster.
- After the split brain condition occurs, it lasts only for few seconds, after which the network connectivity is restored automatically.
- The issue occurs only once after a node is restarted, and it does not recur even if you perform sequence of actions again.
Workaround
To avoid encountering this issue, you may choose to click Start > Control Pannel >Network and Internet>Network and Sharing Center> Change Network Settings when you want to view or change the network properties on an InfoScale cluster node.
