Error Message

There are no instances available to configure.

There may be one of the following reasons:

1. SQL Server instance if not installed.
2. There are SQL Server 2012/2014/2016/2017 instance(s) already configured in another service group.
3. The system list selected does not contain any common instance.
4. The common instance does not have same data path.

Please run the wizard in edit mode or install a new instance on all the systems selected.
Wizard cannot proceed from this place. Do you want to quit the wizard?
Press Yes to quit or No to stay in the wizard, and change the system list.

Error V-16-13-3484

Error message states the likely causes, see solution section for details on each possible cause solution.

1. SQL Server instance if not installed.
- Verify SQL instance is installed by checking Windows Services. Install SQL instance to resolve.

2. There are SQL Server 2012/2014/2016/2017 instance(s) already configured in another service group.
- Check whether there is an existing SQL service group in VCS.  Verify the instance name is not the one to be configured.

3. The system list selected does not contain any common instance.
- Check all cluster nodes to verify the SQL instance is installed via Windows Services and the instances share the same name.  Install same name instance to resolve.

4. The common instance does not have same data path.
- SQL Data Directories must be installed to shared storage on the sever where the wizard is run. Verify by checking Windows registry HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\\Setup\SQLDataRoot key is a path other than C: drive. SQL must be reinstalled to resolve this issue.
