Description

Error Message

"Failed to log in, user is not authorized"

Cause

If access to that authentication domain on the Central Management Server has been verified outside of InfoScale Operations Manager, and all prerequisites for adding authentication domains to VIOM in the Administrator's Guide have been followed, the root cause of the login failure may be that the domain was not assigned the required permissions to access the entire Central Management Console.

Resolution

Under the Permissions tab of Broker settings under Settings > Security in the Central Management Console, ensure all five roles specified in the tab (Server, Storage, Availability, Virtualization, and Management Server) are granted to the authentication domain.

Issue/Introduction

After using the "Add LDAP/AD" wizard under the "Security" section of the Veritas InfoScale Operations Manager 8.0 Central Management Console to successfully add an authentication domain to the configuration, a subsequent login attempt from a user within that domain fails with "Failed to log in, user is not authorized"
