The installer uses password-less Secure Shell (ssh) or Remote Shell (rsh) communications among systems. During an installation, the communication method can be chosen. Alternatively, the installer -comsetup command can be run to set up based on ssh or rsh. When the installation process completes, the installer prompts for removal of the password-less connection. If installation terminated abruptly, use the installation script's -comcleanup option to remove the password-less ssh or rsh configuration from the systems.
In most installation, configuration, upgrade (where necessary), and uninstallation scenarios, the installer configures ssh or rsh on the target systems. When performing installation using a response file, set up ssh or rsh manually or use the installer -comsetup option to set up the ssh or rsh configuration for the systems concerned.
