Description

Problem

In a Windows Failover Cluster (WFOC) environment, the Destroy Dynamic Disk Group option in Veritas Enterprise Administrator (VEA) GUI is greyed out and cannot be selected.

Error Message

N/A

Cause

If a Volume Manager Disk Group resource is configured in WFOC for the dynamic disk group, the Destroy Dymanic Disk Group option will be shown as greyed out under VEA.

Solution

1) Ensure there are no resources in the Cluster Role that have the Volume Manager Disk group resource as a part of their dependencies.

2) Remove the Volume Manager Disk Group resource from WFOC for the dynamic disk group.

This would then enable the Destroy Dymanic Disk Group option in VEA.

NOTE:Simply removing the resource from the cluster role does not remove it from the Storage Disks container. The resource needs to be removed completely from the Cluster's Storage Disks container.
