The Engine_A.log at %VCS_HOME%/log would report the error below:
VCS Error V-16-20027-11:
Error V-106-68644-658: The Secondary node could not perform requested operation.
When the Global SG is configured on the Public NIC and VVR on a different NIC belonging to a different network, then the network for VVR is not able to reach the domain and Active Directory (AD) services.
For VVR, when a failover happens, the VVR Security (VxSAS) service does the handshake before swapping the roles of Primary and Secondary. In the handshake, the VxSAS on Primary and Secondary exchange the SecurityContext structure where the logged-on user validation is performed.
When the logged-on user is a domain user, and Public NIC is disabled/faulted, all the communication with the domain is broken, preventing the VxSAS service from authenticating the logged-on user. The Replication network, too, is unable to reach the domain.
Owing to this, the role reversal of Primary-Secondary via VxSAS does not occur, preventing the RVGPrimary from coming online on the DR site.
