While installing the patch, the following message appears:

VRTSpython_3_9_2_0_1 failed to install on [SERVERNAME]

Cause

VRTSpython upgrade fails due to an issue with a special symbol in the package. However, occasionally, the package may install. If so, the error can be ignored.

Resolution

There are no plans to address this issue by way of a patch or hotfix in earlier versions of the software at the present time.  However, the issue has been addressed in the revision of the product specified at the end of this article. 
 
Please contact your Infoscale Sales representative or the Infoscale Sales group for upgrade information including upgrade eligibility to the release containing the resolution for this issue.

 

This issue is resolved in the CPI (Common Product Installer) patch, cpi-Patch-7.4.2.3800.

  1. Download and extract infoscale-rhel8_x86_64-Patch-7.4.2.3800.tar.gz
  2. Run the InfoScale patch with the CPI patch as an argument:
    ./installVRTSinfoscale742P4900 -require / CPI_7.4.2_P38.pl
  3. Follow the prompts and finish the patch installation

Note: CPI patches do not install onto the system and instead modify the behavior of CPI included in the patch or base installation.
