Description:
Product: Veritas InfoScale Operations Manager (Host Component) -- Error 1714. The older version of Veritas InfoScale Operations Manager (Host Component) cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group. System Error 1612.

Cause

Hotfix MSI is missing to allow uninstall of the current version

Resolution

Follow the steps below to resolve the issue:

  1. Determine InstallSource for current Veritas InfoScale Operations Manager (Host Component)
    1. Open Windows Registry to location: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
    2. Search for "VRTSsfmh"
    3. Note the InstallSource path. This is where the current version MSI will need to be placed.
      1. Example 
  2. Locate the MSI on the VIOM Management Server
    1. Browse to \ProgramData\Symantec\VRTSsfmcs\store
    2. Locate the VRTSsfmh-.tar.gz file for the version needed
      1. Example 
  3. Extract and copy the MSI file to the InstallSource path from step 1
  4. Deploy the hotfix using VIOM Management Console
