CPI ERROR V-9-0-0 InfoScale Update check failed for following package(s) on : VRTScavf, VRTSdbac, VRTSllt, VRTSvcs.

 

Cause

The root cause of the problem is the incompatibility between the patch and the system configuration. The installer fails on pre-checks due to missing Vx packages that are not part of the Foundation/Storage bundle. The manual installation bypasses the failed checks but results in the vxconfigd not loading, breaking the installation.

 

Resolution

To resolve the issue, follow these steps:

  1. Revert back to patch level 1600 to restore system functionality.

Additional Instructions:

  • Ensure that the system is running Vx 8.02 patch level 1600 on RHEL 8.10 (kernel 4.18.0-553).
  • Note that the InfoScale product works without the (Update for RHEL 8.10).
  • If attempting to install patch 1700, be aware that it may cause the issues described above.
