Error Message

Checking the VMwareDisks_A.log from %VCS_HOME%\log will report the error below:

YYYY/MM/DD HH:MM:SS VCS ERROR V-16-10061-22541 VMwareDisks::monitor:Failed to open connection to cluster with error 103 (Failed to initialize authentication library (25347))

The issue is identified as a defect in the DIsk Path attribute handling for the VMwareDisks resource

A hotfix is now available for this issue in the current version of the product mentioned. Refer to the Hotfix link under Related downloads to obtain the hotfix needed to resolve the issue.

For Infoscale 8.0.1 and 8.0.2 on the Windows platform, the VMwareDisks resource fails to probe. The issue is primarily seen following a VM/backup software level snapshot being performed, which causes the disk paths for the VM to be updated with a new path (path of the snapshot disks). While the VMwareDisks resource is designed to handle disk path changes automatically, in this case, it fails to update the Disk Paths attribute of the configured VMwareDisks resource with the updated paths and starts reporting the status as Unknown in the VCS Java Console.
