There are no error messages.
The status of the volume when viewed from VEA -> Volumes tree, upon selecting the impacted volume, shows the below details on the right hand side pane for volume information.
Status: Healthy Formatting (Formatting)
File system type: RAW
Below is a sample view of an impacted Mirrored volume
When checking the Tasks pane from VEA, the Format task will be in a hung state.
Cause
The issue is identified as a defect.
Resolution
A supported hotfix has been made available for this issue.

Issue/Introduction
For Infoscale 8.x on Windows platform, when attempting to format a Mirrored volume with NTFS, the task is hung indefinitely. In some cases, the Veritas Enterprise Administrator (VEA) or the server may enter a hung state and a hard reboot is needed to resume normal operations.
